You Damn Kids Better Get Off My Lawn

i’m not exactly sure when it happened, but i seem to have joined the ranks of crotchety adults railing against the youth of today. trust me, i’m way more shocked than you are. i mean, i was practically the poster child for narcissism… i was even kicked out of gifted class for being incorrigible. and the girl scouts. and ccd. anyway, narcissism is and always will be the rite of passage from child to adult; however, it does seem to be reaching epic proportions these days. i won’t waste my time regurgitating anymore examples, but i will point out that, thankfully, there does seem to be a continuum whereby life experience and education either modifies or amplifies this tendency in people.

i found this online quiz that judges your generational tendencies by questioning your use of technology rather than the year you were born and, oddly enough, it put me squarely in gen y.

i was going to wax philosophical about how i think gen x and gen y will be the end of corporate stronghold, but i’m tired so, maybe later… right after i rip the media to shreds over this obama/clinton spectacle.
